Garmin Nuvi 1200 Series GPS

The Garmin Nuvi 1200 series and Nuvi 1300 series were announced in March 2009 with projected release in the second half of 2009. Amazon.com began shipping these units on June 21. 2009.

Garmin Nuvi 1200

The Nuvi 1200 series is thinner, lighter, and less expensive with more capability than previous Garmin Nuvi's.

This new line of Nuvi's is 25% thinner than the previous Nuvi's (0.6" thick versus 0.8" thick for older Nuvi's). This also reduces weight from 5.2 ounces for older units to 4.0 ounces for the Nuvi 1200 line.

All the Nuvi 1200's contain these basic functions:

· 3.5 inch display (diagonal)

· Speaks street names

· Preloaded street maps (See table below for map coverage)

· Optional FM lifetime traffic information

· Where am I?

· Photo navigation

· ecoRoute™

· Optional MSN® Direct

All the units in this new series are ultra thin and affordable.
