| Garmin introduced its new line of Garmin Nuvi 2x5 GPS units in the second quarter of 2008. These units have a faster processor than the older Nuvi units, Garmin HotFix™ Technology, Garmin's "Where Am I?" feature, photo navigation, and access to traffic data and MSN Direct. According to Garmin, the 333 Mhz processor enhances the unit's map drawing and route calculation capability. The HotFix™ is some slick technology that after you turn the GPS off, it keeps track of where the satellites are located. When you turn the device back on, it can locate and acquire the satellites much more quickly. The "Where Am I?" feature displays the user’s latitude and longitude coordinates, the nearest address and intersection, and the closest hospitals, police stations and gas stations on demand. By downloading geotagged photos to the device, you will be able to pick a picture and navigate to the location of the feature in the photo. This works with Google's Panoramio photo sharing community and Garmin Connect Photos website. All the Nuvi 2x5 units have the above features. Here are the differences in each unit: | Nuvi 205 | Does not speak street names, Preloaded street maps for lower 48 states, Hawaii and Puerto Rico | | Nuvi 205W | Widescreen, Does not speak street names, Preloaded street maps for lower 48 states, Hawaii and Puerto Rico | | Nuvi 255 | Speaks street names (North America version only), preloaded street maps for North America, FM traffic optional | | Nuvi 255W | Widescreen, Speaks street names (North America version only), preloaded street maps for North America, FM traffic optional | | Nuvi 265T | Speaks street names, FM traffic included, Bluetooth® wireless, speaks street names, preloaded street maps for North America | | Nuvi 265WT | Widescreen, Speaks street names, FM traffic included, Bluetooth® wireless, speaks street names, preloaded street maps for North America | | Nuvi 275T | Speaks street names, Preloaded street maps for Europe & North America, FM traffic included, Bluetooth® wireless | Check out the Nuvi 255 Best Deal Check out the Nuvi 205 Best Deal Author's Note: I recommend you buy the Nuvi 255 or better.
